Portable Ethylene meter
Storex has developed a portable ethylene meter with special functions for the Controlled Atmosphere (CA) storage of fruit. This meter offers numerous advantages when measuring ethylene.
Measuring ethylene provides valuable insights into the ripening, senescence (ageing) and the occurrence of spoilage of fruit.
Advantages of ethylene measurement:
- Monitoring the trend of ethylene production as an indicator of maturation, development of senescence or spoilage.
- Checking the effect of a 1-MCP treatment by comparing the ethylene level in CA chambers.
- Comparison of the ethylene production of batches of fruit with different origin/production area/year of production.

Interchangeable chemical cells, 2 types:
- Low Range Nominal 0-20 ppm with overload capability for measurement up to 100 ppm
- High range 0-200 PPM. Accuracy in the range of 0-20 ppm = +/- 2-3 ppm. Above 20 ppm, this is approx. +/- 5% of the measured value
